Margot Nash’s Cinema Reborn 2019 Favourite WANDA (Barbara Loden, 1970)

Margot-Nash 2010

Film-maker Margot Nash has been a stalwart supporter of Cinema Reborn since we got going. It was Margot’s efforts that caused the first edition to radically expand its Australian selection when she offered us new digital copies of the Oz indie alternative classics IN THIS LIFE’S BODY (Corinne Cantrill) and YACKETTY YACK. (Dave Jones).

For Cinema Reborn 2019 Margot will be doing the intro for Barba Loden’s WANDA and that’s the movie she proposes as her favourite among our selection.

WANDA is also screening as part of the Cinema Reborn selection being screened at Adelaide’s Media Resource Centre’s Mercury Theatre. The Mercury is also screening Margot Nash’s superb 1993 feature VACANT POSSESSION in a superb 35mm archival print, a film that the Sydney season was unable to program because of the technical requirements associated with screening preservation material held by the National Film & Sound Archive of Australia. That screening is on May 27 at 7.00 pm. For full details of the Adelaide Cinema Reborn screenings Click on this link
